According to tradition, people usually celebrate Eid al-Fitr by making various Eid dishes, including ketupat. Because it requires skill to make ketupat pouch, many traders use this opportunity to sell it before Eid.

Based on Beritajakarta.id observation, there were about 40-50 ketupat pouch sellers lined up along Jalan Bangun Nusa Raya and Daan Mogot, Cengkareng Market.
Endang (41), a ketupat pouch seller on Jalan Bangun Nusa Raya said that she and her friends have been selling ketupat pouch since Saturday (4/30).
"I sell a bundle of 10 ketupat pouches for Rp 15,000. Many people have been looking for them since yesterday," she conveyed, Sunday (5/1).
She mentioned that half of a total of 1,000 ketupat pouches that she brought had been sold today.
"I sell it until takbiran night. After that, I will return to my house in Rangkasbitung," he expressed.
Yusman (37), another ketupat pouch seller from Padeglang, Banten, also admitted that a similar thing. He usually sold ketupat pouches at Cengkareng Market ahead of Eid.
They admitted that this year's sales were higher than the previous two years. However, they did not know how many ketupat pouches would be sold until this takbiran night.
"In the late afternoon, the price is on sale to Rp 7,500 per piece. Hopefully, all of them will be sold later," he uttered.
